EFL Transfer Rumours: Hull City, Luton Town, Sheffield Wednesday and Birmingham City
Arsenal Linked With Hull Ace
Arsenal are preparing to swoop for Hull City star Jarrod Bowen. Justin Allen of the Sun reports that the Gunners are set to bid £12 million for the 22-year-old forward. Bowen has been monitored by Arsenal since January and they are now set to make their move.
Bowen, who scored 22 goals for the Tigers last season, has been linked with several clubs. Hull value the player at £15 million, but with it seeming unlikely they can hang on to their star man, a deal could be done.
Lee Cattermole Hillsborough Bound?
Sheffield Wednesday could be set to move for free agent Lee Cattermole. The 31-year-old surprisingly left Sunderland after ten years on Monday. Cattermole had a year remaining on his contract; however, he, and the Black Cats agreed to end his time on Wearside. According to Scott Wilson of the Northern Echo, Sheffield appears to be his most likely destination.
Current Wednesday manager Steve Bruce signed Cattermole for Sunderland in 2009 for £6 million. Ten years on and the pair could be reunited. Bruce remains a fan and now that no other club are involved, the deal Bruce had been pushing for could now happen.
Luton Linked With Everton Defender
Championship new boys Luton Town are closing in on Everton’s Brendan Galloway. Football Insider are reporting that terms have already been agreed between the Hatters and the defender. A free transfer, ending Galloway’s five year stay at Goodison, is not far away.
Should Galloway sign for Luton, he will be reunited with their manager Graeme Jones. Jones was part of the coaching staff at Everton when Galloway signed from MK Dons. The 23-year-old has also spent time on loan at West Bromwich Albion and Sunderland. Neither were as successful as the player or the clubs would have liked.
Birmingham City Transfer Rumours: Adams Replacement Identified
Birmingham City may have found their replacement for Che Adams. According to Brian Dick of Birmingham Live, City are chasing Palermo striker George Puscas. However, they could face plenty of competition for the Romanian.
Puscas signed for Palermo just last summer from Inter Milan. He went on to score nine goals in Serie B last season. The performances of the striker at this summers European U21 Championships have also caught the eye of potential suitors. Four goals in four games has seen Birmingham’s pursuit become that bit more difficult.
