Latest Transfer Rumours
Gianluigi Buffon Transfer Rumours
Gianluigi Buffon could be set for a remarkable return to Juventus after just a year away, Sky Sport Italia reports. He will rejoin the Turin side on a one-year deal with a future as a director. Paris Saint-Germain had offered the Italian a contract extension, but he was against another year in France. After reports linking Buffon to Porto and Leeds United, he has agreed to return to the Bianconeri.
With Mattia Perin seeking a move from Juventus for more playing time, Buffon will play second fiddle to Wojciech Szczęsny. The Italian, 41, previously spent 17 years at the Serie A Champions, making 656 appearances, and winning 21 titles.
Bayern Eye Dembélé as Sané Alternative
Christian Falk of Bild claims that Bayern Munich are lining up Ousmane Dembélé as an alternative to Leroy Sané. While the Bavarian club are still pursuing Sané, they are considering the French international if Manchester City agree a new contract with him.
He was an important figure in Barcelona’s squad last season, with 14 goals and nine assists in 42 appearances. However, his indiscipline means he could be part of the Catalan club’s exodus this summer. Therefore, he could yet pave the way for Neymar‘s return. Bayern Munich have been admirers since Dembélé’s Dortmund days. It remains to be seen whether he joins their fierce rivals.
Barcelona and Valencia to Exchange Goalkeepers
Alex Milne of The Mirror understands that Barcelona and Valencia are preparing to swap goalkeepers. Jasper Cillessen will join Valencia, with Neto moving the other way. However, there is a plan in the deal to avoid Financial Fair Play sanctions. Cillessen has been understudy to Marc-André ter Stegen since his arrival in 2016 and has only made five La Liga appearances in his three years.
Neto, however, has been a mainstay in Valencia’s side for two seasons. The catch in the deal, though, is that the two transfers will take place on consecutive days. Neto will leave Valencia on 30th June, just before the start of the 2019/20 fiscal year. Cillessen, meanwhile, will join them a day later, after the fiscal year has begun. Thus, Valencia will be able to bank the funds immediately before returning them to Barcelona. Valencia are aiming to better last year’s performance in the Champion’s League, where they finished third in their group behind Juventus and Manchester United.
El Shaarawy Set for China Move
Stephan El Shaarawy has agreed to join Shanghai Shenhua for €18 million, Il Tempo reports. With both Edin Džeko and Kostas Manolas both close to leaving, the Italy international could be the first to leave Roma this summer. Together with the sales of those players, Giallorossi are hoping to raise €45 million.
He was Roma’s top scorer in Serie A last season, with 11 goals. However, with his contract set to expire in a year, his talks to extend his stay in Rome had stalled. Now, former Watford manager Quique Sánchez Flores has convinced him to join him in China.
