Neymar Wants To Leave
Last night, Mundo Deportivo’s Roger Torello published a report about Neymar’s secret message to Paris Sain-Germain. The message said that Neymar did not want to play at PSG anymore and that he wanted to return to Barcelona. According to Mundo, he said, “I don’t want to play at PSG anymore. I want to go back to my house, which I should never have left in the first place.”
This report comes on the heels of PSG president Nassir Al-Khelaifi’s pointed comments about professionalism from earlier this week. They are looking to offload the Brazilian as they are tired of his antics on and off the pitch, but they are not going to part ways with Neymar unless they get a suitable return for him.
Barcelona’s Offer
Reports out of Barcelona are that the dressing room, and Lionel Messi in particular, want Neymar to come back. If the club is going to facilitate such a deal is going to take a lot of money. PSG’s €200+ million valuation of Neymar could be brought down if Barcelona include one of their players.
Luckily for them, there are two such options available, according to Marca’s Ramiro Aldunate. The first is Philippe Coutinho and the other is Ousmane Dembele. The two Neymar replacements have had a rough time at the Camp Nou. Dembele’s injuries and Coutinho’s poor form has left them both at a crossroads this summer with their Barcelona futures in the balance.
Antoine Griezmann
Barcelona’s reported interest in Neymar throws one of the transfer windows worst kept secrets into flux. It has been rumoured for some time that Barcelona would sign Antoine Griezmann on July 1st when his release clause goes down to €120 million. Even Atletico Madrid’s current president they have known where Griezmann will go since March.
In one of the more amazing summer transfer rumours, Barcelona could look to push Griezmann into a Neymar deal, as reported by El Mundo’s Francisco Cabezas. It’s an incredibly convoluted idea, but Barcelona are not going to be able to sign both Griezmann and Neymar without significant sales.
