Latest on Danny Rose, Jagielka, Fernandes and Gomes
Danny Rose to Leave Spurs?
Reports in the Daily Mirror are suggesting that Danny Rose could play his last game for Spurs in the Champions League Final. If so, Paris Saint-Germain are set to target the left-back. Rose almost moved to PSG last summer only for the deal to fall through.
Rose has said recently, “I keep seeing I’m being sold. If that’s the case and it’s going to be my last game for Tottenham, I’m hoping to go out with a bang and lift a trophy.”
Jagielka to Head North?
Everton’s Phil Jagielka could link up with Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard at Rangers. North Wales Live are reporting that the defender whose contract is up this summer is a target for the Scottish giants. Toffees captain Jagielka will be available on a free transfer should an extension not be agreed.
However, the Sun are reporting that the former England international is not a target for Rangers. The Gers are in the market for defenders but whether 36-year-old Jagielka is on Gerrard’s wanted list depends on which reports you believe.
Fernandes Deal Off
Manchester City are not interested in signing Bruno Fernandes according to the Manchester Evening News. City have been heavily linked of late with the Sporting Lisbon midfielder. City boss Pep Guardiola is looking to add to his squad; however, it now appears that Fernandes is not on his wish list.
Rivals Manchester United could now pounce with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer desperate to rebuild his squad. The midfielder has scored 31 goals this season and could be available for around £50 million.
Spurs set to Beat Everton to Gomes
The Metro are reporting that Tottenham have agreed terms with Andre Gomes. The north London club are hoping to complete a £30 million deal for the Barcelona midfielder. Gomes has been on loan at Everton this season with the Toffees hoping to agree a permanent deal. However, it appears that Spurs are winning the race.
The 25-year-old has had an impressive season at Goodison Park, making 26 appearances. The Portugal international has become a key player for Everton having settled in England quickly. No purchase agreement is in place between Barcelona and Everton allowing Spurs to swoop.
