Latest on Saido Berahino, Bacuna, Marquis and Rossiter
Berahino and Hodgson to Reunite?
Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson is reportedly interested in Stoke forward Saido Berahino. Hodgson knows Berahino well from their time together at West Bromwich Albion. Palace are keen to add more options to their attack and the 25-year-old could fit the bill.
Berahino has not had the best of times at Stoke. This season, he ended a 913-day goal drought. He has also not scored in the top-flight since 2016. He has, however, scored five times this season. His signing could be seen as a risk, but if anyone can get the best out of him, his former boss could be the one.
Cardiff Chasing Reading Midfielder
Leandro Bacuna could be set to leave Reading and join Cardiff City. A deal is reportedly close and could be worth up to £3 million. Bacuna joined Reading from Aston Villa in 2017. He has featured in 28 games so far this season, scoring three goals.
The Royals will be reluctant to lose Bacuna as they are currently struggling in the Championship. Cardiff are also struggling and need reinforcements. The 27-year-old has played 85 games in the Premier League, scoring six times.
Marquis on Blacks Cats Radar?
Doncaster Rovers have reportedly rejected a bid of £1.25 million from Sunderland for striker John Marquis. The Black Cats have seemingly switched targets having seen five bids rejected by Wigan for Will Grigg. Sunderland are hoping to sign two strikers today.
Marquis has scored 20 goals this season and Rovers will be desperate to keep their prize asset. The 26-year-old began his career at Millwall but his career really took off after moving to Doncaster. He helped fire them into League One and his goals helped keep them there last season.
Rossiter to Leave SPL for League Two?
Midfielder Jordan Rossiter is close to leaving Rangers for Bury. The 21-year-old former Liverpool player moved to Scotland in 2016. However, he has been plagued by injuries and needs games time.
Fellow teammate Jamie Barjonas spent the first half of the season on loan with the Shakers. It is thought that Rossiter has huge potential but injuries have hampered his progress. A loan spell at Bury at this stage could be an excellent move to get his career going.
