Latest on Kieffer Moore, Wilfried Bony, Andy King and Ben Whitfield

Sunderland Bid For Kieffer Moore

Promotion chasers Sunderland have reportedly tabled a bid of £2 million for striker Kieffer Moore. The Barnsley marksman has been in impressive form this season, scoring 15 goals. The Black Cats are set to lose Josh Maja to Bordeaux and are desperate to bring in reinforcements.

Moore impressed during Barnsley’s loss at the Stadium of Light earlier this season. Even though his side were defeated 4-2, he scored both goals and was a handful throughout. If reports are true and Sunderland have tabled a bid, Barnsley have a decision to make. Keep the 26-year-old or take the offer from a rival, which could be difficult to refuse.

Will Grigg Update

Sunderland have also now had four bids rejected by Wigan Athletic for striker Will Grigg. A fifth bid is expected soon. At present, no details on the amounts offered have been revealed.

Bony Heading to Turkey?

Swansea City striker Wilfried Bony could be heading to Turkey. The player’s agent has indicated that Bony is keen on a move; however, no offers have been received, although several clubs are interested. The 30-year-old former Manchester City forward is out of contract in the summer.

Swansea manager Graham Potter is keen to add to his squad. However, he has admitted that this could hinge on players leaving. Bony is reportedly earning £100,000 per week, an amount that is proving unsustainable. Swansea, therefore, will be keen to part with Bony this month if possible. He agent has suggested that the club would not want a fee.

Leicester Midfielder to Make Decision on Future

Leicester City midfielder Andy King could be set to decide where he plays next. King is surplus to requirements at City and several Championship clubs are interested. Nottingham Forest and Swansea appear to be the front-runners. King spent time on loan at Swansea last season.

New Forest manager Martin O’Neill is keen to bring the Wales international in on loan. King, who has played 375 games for the Foxes, is currently undecided where he should move to. However, with the transfer window closing soon, a decision could be imminent.

Whitfield to leave Vale for Colchester?

Port Vale winger Ben Whitfield is a target for Colchester United. The promotion chasers are keen to strengthen their squad and reportedly want Whitfield. The winger, who can also play as an attacking midfielder, joined Vale from Bournemouth in the summer after a spell on loan.

Whitfield was left out of the last league squad and was a substitute as Vale lost to Bristol Rovers in the Checkatrade Trophy. The 22-year-old could favour a move from relegation-threatened Port Vale to promotion challenges Colchester. The deal could come down to whether United can fund the move.
