Championship Transfer News

Leeds Chase Madrid Keeper

Leeds United’s search for a new goalkeeper could be over. Real Madrid shot-stopper Kiko Casilla is reportedly in talks to move to Elland Road. The 32-year-old former Spain international has yet to feature for Madrid this season and could favour the move.

United have been looking for a new keeper since Chelsea loanee Jamal Blackman broke his leg in November. 22-year-old Bailey Peacock-Farrell has been in goal since, but Marco Bielsa is keen to add experience. Casilla has been Real’s back-up keeper since signing in 2015 from Espanyol.

Ipswich Open Talks With Judge

Relegation-threatened Ipswich Town are in talks to sign midfielder Alan Judge. The 30-year-old is in the latter stages of his contract and Brentford are willing to let him leave. Manager Paul Lambert wants to add experience to his squad and the Republic of Ireland international fits the bill.

Judge has featured 25 times this season but primarily from the bench. The midfielder missed almost two seasons after suffering a leg break at Portman Road. He returned at the beginning of last year. It is understood that the deal would be a permanent one until the end of the season.

Connolly Wanted by Tigers

Hull City could be about to make their first signing of the transfer window. Cardiff City defender Matthew Connolly is reportedly the player in talks. The experienced 31-year-old has been told he can leave Cardiff and is keen on a move to Hull. It is expected that the deal will be a loan until the end of the season.

Connolly has a lot of experience in the Championship having won four promotions from the division. The former Cardiff Player of the Year has been mainly used as a back-up over the last 18 months. A move for regular first-team football at this stage of his career is an important factor. A deal is expected to be completed in the next 48 hours.

Woodburn Wanted

Having had his loan at Sheffield United cut short, Ben Woodburn is not expected to stay at Liverpool for long. Several Championship clubs are keen on the Wales international. Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp appears to be keen to allow the youngster to leave on loan again.

West Brom, Hull City, Brentford and Blackburn are all reportedly interested. The 19-year-old is currently recovering from an ankle injury but should be fit soon. Liverpool are currently considering the various offers for their young attacker. After a disappointing spell in Sheffield, Klopp will be keen to get the next loan right.

QPR Set Price Tag For Eze

Queens Park Rangers have placed a £10 million price tag on their young star Eberechi Eze. Several Premier League clubs including Tottenham, Liverpool and Bournemouth have been impressed with the England Under-20 international.

QPR believe Eze has a big future and do not want to lose him. Rangers are currently in contention for a play-off place and losing Eze could damage those hopes.
