Latest on Christian Pulisic, Solanke, Banega and Hudson-Odoi
Liverpool to Win Race for Pulisic?
Liverpool look set to beat Arsenal in the race to sign Christian Pulisic. The current league leaders have reportedly outbid the Gunners and now appear to be the front-runners to sign the USA international. Arsenal had been willing to pay £35 million; however, Liverpool appear to have made a higher offer. Pulisic’s current club Borussia Dortmund are looking for closer to £50 million.
20-year-old Pulisic has become a key player for Dortmund since breaking into the first team in 2016. He has gone on to play over 100 games. His form has attracted interest from several Premier League clubs, including Chelsea. However, it appears that Liverpool are about to win the race. He could, therefore, become Jurgen Klopp’s first signing of the January transfer window.
Solanke to Leave on Loan?
With a new signing on the cards at Anfield, one player could be about to depart. Several clubs are in the race to sign forward Dominic Solanke on loan. Relegation rivals Crystal Palace, Huddersfield, Brighton and Fulham are all interested in the England international. However, recent reports suggest that Palace are leading the way.
21-year-old Solanke has not featured in the league this season so far and is desperate for games. A move to any of the interested clubs would provide the minutes on the pitch he craves. The striker is not currently in Klopp’s plans, therefore the Liverpool boss is unlikely to stop a loan deal from happening.
Banega Set to Join Arsenal
Arsenal look set to make their first signing in the early stages of the transfer window. The Gunners have reportedly agreed a £18 million deal to sign Sevilla midfielder Ever Banega. Arsenal are looking to add experience to their squad and manager Unai Emery knows Banega well from his time in Spain.
The 30-year-old has a £18 million release clause and Arsenal are willing to agree to that fee to get their man. The Argentina international, who has 65 caps, is tempted to make the switch to the Premier League. It has been reported that his agent has already travelled to London to begin discussions.
Munich Want Chelsea Youngster
German giants Bayern Munich are keen to sign Callum Hudson-Odoi. Munich are reportedly willing to pay £13 million for the young midfielder. German rivals Borussia Dortmund are also said to be interested. Chelsea could be willing to allow Hudson-Odoi leave; however, they could insist on a buy-back clause being included.
The winger has struggled to get game time at Stamford Bridge and could be tempted to move on. He is one of the most promising players to come through the Chelsea academy; however, his path to the first team is not an easy one. The Blues are big admirers of the youngster, therefore a buy-back clause could be insisted on.
