Liverpool v Bayern Munich
The Draw
Last years runners-up Liverpool will face the toughest task of all English teams as they play Bayern.
Tottenham and Manchester City will also face trips to Germany to face Dortmund and Schalke. Both teams will enter the two legs as favourites but by no means have a walkover.
Spurs will travel to one of Europe’s most hostile stadiums in the Westfalenstadion and match up against England starlet Jadon Sancho.
Meanwhile, Manchester City face Schalke. They will be confident of winning the tie comfortably as Schalke struggle in the bottom half of the Bundesliga.
Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Edinson Cavani will go to the north west of England again having already faced Liverpool in the group stage. They match up against Manchester United for the first time in a Champions League game.
Elsewhere, dark horses Lyon host Barcelona first. The Catalan Giants will no doubt be favourites but should be wary of the attacking excitement from France. Lyon played very impressively against Manchester City and look the real deal.
Real Madrid’s quest for a fourth Champions League in a row starts with an away trip to the Netherlands. They face Ajax for the first time since the 2013 campaign.
Spanish giants Atletico Madrid have another high profile game after drawing the Old Lady of Juventus. This will be an eagerly anticipated game which promises so much.
