Latest on Christian Pulisic, Koulibaly, Ramsey and Pickford
Chelsea Chase Dortmund Youngster
The latest on Christian Pulisic looks to be that Chelsea are in pole position, if they meet the asking price. Borussia Dortmund have set a £70 million tag for the 20-year-old. However, at present, the Blues are being put off by the amount being asked. Pulisic is one of Europe’s top young talents and if Chelsea don’t agree to pay the asking price, someone else will.
Pulisic has impressed for Dortmund this season and also for the USA national team. Chelsea are concerned that Pulisic has not produced on a consistent basis. Therefore, they believe his price should reflect this. With the likes of Pedro and Willian not getting any younger and the constant rumours of Eden Hazard departing, Pulisic could be an ideal signing if the price lowers.
Napoli Reject Huge United bid for Defender
Manchester United have reportedly had a huge bid for defender Kalidou Koulibaly rejected by Napoli. A bid believed to be in the region of £91 million was submitted by United for the Senegal international. Jose Mourinho has long wanted defensive reinforcements. The United manager was left frustrated during the summer after the club failed to sign his targets.
Koulibaly has become one of Europe’s top defenders. A host of clubs are interested in signing him, including Chelsea. They have the defenders former manager Maurizio Sarri in charge. However, United will be desperate not to lose out on another defender and could return with a new bid sooner rather than later.
Ramsey to Madrid?
The latest club to be linked with Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey are Spanish giants Real Madrid. Reports suggest that Real have already been in contact. They are interested in signing him on a pre-contract agreement in January. Arsenal have chosen not to offer the Welsh international a new deal. Ramsey has been linked with Bayern Munich and Juventus amongst others.
Should Ramsey sign for Madrid, he would link up with fellow Welshman Gareth Bale.
However, he would face stiff competition for a place in the starting lineup. There are several top players competing for places in their midfield. Come January, Ramsey could have a huge decision to make as to which too European club to sign for.
Pickford on United’s Wishlist
Due to uncertainty still surrounding David de Gea, Manchester United have put Jordan Pickford at the top of their wanted list. The Red Devil’s are concerned that they could lose their number one next summer if his demands are not met. With this being the case, Everton’s England international Pickford is their choice to take over in goal.
A £70 million pound deal could be enough to persuade Everton to part company with the former Sunderland star. Therefore, should the deal happen, it would make 24-year-old Pickford the worlds most expensive keeper.
