Preview: Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 14

Captaincy Picks

The standout fixture from a Fantasy Manager’s perspective this week is definitely Manchester CityBournemouth. City could get another big win at home against a team likely to attack them rather than defend with ten men. However, the Cityzens had a really tough away game against Lyon in the Champions League on Tuesday night. The likely big hitters, Sergio Agüero, Raheem Sterling, David Silva and Leroy Sané, all started the match. They all started the West Ham game last weekend as well. Hence, the fear of rotation is very real this week. Gabriel Jesus, Bernardo Silva, İlkay Gündoğan, Kevin De Bruyne and Benjamin Mendy all missed the midweek game through injury. Jesus, Bernardo and Gundogan could return for the Bournemouth game but one must wait for team news. If they are all back, what will that mean for the likes of Aguero and Sterling? Could Pep give starts to Phil Foden and Brahim Diaz? Many matches are coming for every team so rotation will be a common thing. It will be near impossible to predict the City line-ups.

Another attractive matchup this week will be played at Stamford Bridge between Chelsea and Fulham. Chelsea had a big defeat at the hands of Spurs last week and will be looking to bounce back. Fulham have a really brittle defence so there could be goals in this game. The prime candidate for the armband, Eden Hazard, is a doubt, however. Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri hopes to have him back for the Fulham game, so one would expect him to start and do well in this match. Marcos Alonso has the ability to come up with a huge game from time to time so he should be considered as well.

Differentials to Consider

The North London Derby will take place this Sunday and, historically, this fixture sees a lot of goals. Harry Kane has a great record against Arsenal and should be considered. The only thing to keep in mind is that Spurs have already played two big games this week and their energy levels might not be at the highest. Still, these problems can be overcome with the adrenaline rush of the North London Derby. Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang are also good options from this match.

The Merseyside Derby also takes place this Sunday. This derby is generally a feisty one, although both teams play an attratctive brand of football these days. Anyways, a home game normally sees Mohamed Salah do well, so one cannot rule him out.

Crystal Palace v Burnley, Leicester City v Watford and Cardiff v Wolves could be matches worth considering as well.
