Captaincy Picks

As mentioned in the previous article, owning players against Fulham are absolutely crucial for your team’s success. Liverpool are facing the Cottagers this week. The Reds surprisingly lost against Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League so should be raring to go to put things straight this week. Fulham are probably the perfect opposition to face after such a disappointment. One must worry for them this week as they could be really put to the sword. Four, five or even six goals could come from Liverpool.

Mo Salah will not be championed again this week. The Egyptian has an awesome record at Anfield so should bag a goal or two. However, a top pick for this game is Xherdan Shaqiri. He was not picked by Klopp for political reasons against Red Star so should definitely start this game. He has been very impressive whenever he has featured for his new side this season. Liverpool are also looking to bounce back from poor results of late so Shaqiri might get an extended run in the side now as they look to turn things around. He is available at a really attractive price as well (7.0). It would be a really brave decision to captain him instead of Salah but it’s still something to ponder.

Differentials to Consider

From Liverpool, Robertson, Mane and Firmino are worth considering as well for the armband.

Eden Hazard returned to the side last week and should start this week against Everton. Chelsea should win at Stamford Bridge and the Belgian is likely to score well. Therefore, he should be a strong candidate for the captaincy pick. Alonso as always is worth a shout as well.

One cannot rule out Sergio Aguero from this discussion. This particular fixture produced a stunning comeback by United last season to delay City winning the title. The Citizens will want some revenge from that game and will try to hammer as many goals past United as possible. Aguero did not come on in the 6-0 rout of Shakhtar on Wednesday night so he should start. On the other hand, Raheem Sterling played the whole 90 minutes. Will Pep start him again or use the rested Sane? Pep rested Mendy and Kompany as well with the derby in mind.

One could also make a case for the Arsenal striking duo of Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Wolves should provide a stern test for the Gunners though.

Leicester also have a decent fixture. At home to leaky Burnley, they should win. However, this will be the first home game after the tragic death of their owner, Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, so questions remain on how that will affect their performance. Jamie Vardy and James Maddison are good picks from Leicester if you decide to consider them. Maybe not for the armband though.
