The weeks after European rounds are always tricky to manoeuvre for fantasy football players. Rotations, injury concerns and loss of form all seem to magnify in these weeks. Let’s have a look at those issues and try to find out the best picks for Gameweek 6.
Preview: FPL Gameweek 6
The Captaincy Dilemma
There are two prime candidates for the captaincy armband this week. At home to Southampton, one cannot ignore Mo Salah. If you have spent all those units for him, you really should strongly consider captaining him this week. However, Sergio Aguero was benched midweek and is likely to start at newly-promoted Cardiff. So, it really has become very tricky. Salah has not been in good form but you just know he will have a monster game somewhere to get back in form. On the other hand, Aguero has those games every season where he scores three-four goals. Toss a coin, perhaps.
Injury Concerns
Benjamin Mendy has been declared out by Pep Guardiola. So, the question arises whether you should keep him in your side on the bench or transfer him out. With Fabian Delph making that howler against Lyon, Mendy should return to the side as long as he’s fit. When that will be is the question.
From Thursday night Europa League action, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Lucas Torreira have emerged as small doubts for Arsenal with Pedro picking up a knock as well for Chelsea. In other news, Jose Mourinho has revealed that Phil Jones is fit again but Diogo Dalot will be rested whereas Marcos Rojo and Ander Herrera won’t feature due to injury. On the Everton front, Phil Jagielka, Andre Gomes and Seamus Coleman will all be unavailable for the trip to Arsenal.
