FTN: Latest Transfer News Regarding Dybala, Dembele, Kampl and Lookman
Dybala to Madrid?
Real Madrid have had a surprisingly subdued transfer window, with no big money move to replace Cristiano Ronaldo. However, reports in Argentina suggest that could be about to change, as Real and Juventus have reportedly agreed to a €180 million fee for attacking midfielder Paulo Dybala. The 24-year-old made 33 league appearances last season, scoring 22 goals. He was an unused substitute at the weekend though and could be surplus to requirements.
Juventus have spent in excess of £200 million this window, most notably spending on Cristiano Ronaldo, Douglas Costa and Joao Cancelo. The sale of Dybala could be a necessity in order to balance their books for Financial Fair Play.
Dembele in Talks with Lyon
After losing Mariano Diaz to Real Madrid, Lyon have identified Celtic’s Moussa Dembele as his replacement. Celtic have so far rejected two offers, with boss Brendan Rogers saying that Dembele will not be sold until a replacement is signed. However, Dembele, a France U21 international, has reportedly already agreed terms with the French club. Whether he hands in a transfer request could be the deciding factor in the move being completed before the deadline.
The striker has been a sensation since joining from Fulham two seasons ago for £385,000. With 26 Scottish Premiership goals to his name, Dembele will provide a handsome return on Celtic’s original spend.
Everton Blocking Barcelona Transfer?
Barcelona ended their pursuit of Frenkie de Jong earlier this week after the midfielder decided to stay with Ajax. Their attention has now turned to RB Leipzig’s Kevin Kampl. The Slovenian only joined Leipzig last year but settled in quickly. Barcelona have identified him as key to filling the void left by Andres Iniesta and Paulinho. Leipzig, are reluctant to sell, with too little time left in the window to sign a replacement.
However, Barcelona have been told that should RB Leipzig complete the signing of Ademola Lookman, the sale of Kampl will be agreed. Lookman starred whilst on loan with Leipzig last season; the English winger scored five goals and created three assists in eleven appearances. Lookman has missed the last two Everton matches due to a groin injury, but is expected to be a part of Marco Silva’s plans.
