Football Transfer News: Wilfried Zaha, Hugo Lloris and Cheikhou Kouyate
Odds Suggest Zaha Heading to Chelsea
Wilfried Zaha has been a focus of football transfer news for some time. Tottenham were heavily linked with the Crystal Palace forward in last summer’s transfer window and that has been the case this summer. Crystal Palace value the player at £70 million. Zaha has been keen to work with Mauricio Pochettino and push through a move to Spurs.
The bookmaker Coral has caused a stir by suggesting that Chelsea now lead the race for the player’s signature. This is an intriguing twist in this saga and it will be interesting to see where Zaha ends up come the start of the new Premier League season.
Real Madrid Turn Attention to Hugo Lloris
Hugo Lloris is at the centre of a potential move to La Liga giants Real Madrid. Lloris is Spurs’ captain and has just lifted the World Cup with France in Russia. He is not expected to report back to Spurs for another two weeks due to his World Cup winning exploits. Spurs boss Pochettino is keen for Lloris to be ready for the season opener away to Newcastle United.
Madrid have courted Thibaut Courtois with no success and therefore may turn their attention to Lloris who has four years left on his current contract. Above all Spurs are not looking to sell. Due to Alisson having signed for Liverpool for £67 million, Daniel Levy consequently would not entertain bids lower than £60 million if at all.
Palace Keen on Kouyate
Crystal Palace are headline grabbers in the football transfer window about players potentially leaving. Today, Palace are interested in capturing Cheikhou Kouyate from West Ham United. However, Kouyate has three years remaining on his current contract. West Ham have added seven signings and need to offload players to continue their summer spree. West Ham are willing to listen to offers in the region of £10 million.
