City back for Riyad Mahrez?
Recent reports are suggesting that Pep Guardiola and Manchester City are about to reignite their interest in Riyad Mahrez. City had several bids rejected in January and Mahrez even went AWOL in an attempt to push the deal through.
In the end, Leicester City kept their player but City are about to test the Foxes again. This time they could be more willing to sell.
The 2016 player-of-the-year has been excused from training this week and this could get negotiations going. Mahrez seems to have his heart set on a move to the Ethiad Stadium and could finally get his wish.
Both clubs will not want this dragging on too long and a deal acceptable to both clubs looks likely. A cash plus player deal, understood to be Patrick Roberts could be the way forward.
Courtois Dreams of Real
Chelsea and Belgium international Thibaut Courtois is close to deciding his future. He is thought to favour a move but only if he gets his dream transfer to Real Madrid. With his two children and their mother living in the Spanish capital, a move there would be ideal.
Madrid are reportedly interested in the keeper but are also interested in the Roma goalkeeper Alisson. Courtois has just one year left on his current deal and Chelsea may decide to cash in if Madrid meet their asking price.
With the Blues keeper being cheaper than the £80 million apparently wanted by Roma for Alisson, Real may well put Courtois at the top of their wanted list. If Chelsea lose their number one, a move for Alisson or Kasper Schmeichel is possible.
Mbappe in Demand
The two Manchester clubs, United and City could be about to do battle over Kylian Mbappe. The 19-year-old French international has just finalised a permanent move to PSG; however, current financial fair play rules could force the Paris club to cash in on their star player.
United have registered their interest with PSG and are willing to offer Anthony Martial as part of the deal. United will have to battle it out with Pep Guardiola and City. Guardiola is reported to be fan of the youngster and would like to get him to the Etihad. And if they beat United in the process, then all the better.
Both teams are now awaiting whether PSG must sell.
Another Chance for Karius?
Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp is set to give Loris Karius another chance at Anfield. The keeper, who made mistakes which led to goals in the Champions League Final had been tipped to move on. Liverpool had been interested in Roma’s Alisson but seem unwilling to meet his asking price. This has given Karius an unlikely lifeline at Anfield.
Klopp looks likely to move on Belgium international Simon Mignolet to free up wages and give him extra funds. This has also made it increasingly likely that Karius will stay. He now has a chance to make up for his mistakes which cost Liverpool the Champions League.
