Football Transfer News: Latest Transfer News on Grealish, Rose, de Gea and Martins
Jack Grealish Subject of £15 Million Bid from Tottenham
Sky Sports News report Tottenham have made a £15 million bid for Grealish. Aston Villa have financial problems and selling Grealish could ease some of those concerns. Grealish wasn’t on Pochettino’s shopping list but he sees the youngster as someone he can mature and improve.
Pochettino has a good record developing the likes of Adam Lallana, Harry Winks and Harry Kane. Villa value the player closer to double that amount. Fulham have also expressed an interest.
Chelsea legend John Terry played with Grealish at Villa last season and has recommended the player to his old club. Chelsea hold an interest and would loan the player back to Villa. Spurs are not keen on loaning the player back. Grealish may feel he has a better opportunity to play under Pochettino.
United no longer looking for a Red Rose?
Danny Rose has long been mentioned as a target for Manchester United. Rose made comments last season about wanting to return North and Old Trafford seemed to be his likely destination. The Telegraph report that Jose Mourinho has now changed his mind. Mourinho will keep Luke Shaw and turn his focus to a central defender, as he sees the left full-back position as covered. Rose is away at the World Cup with England and may face showdown talks with Spurs on his return with his future now uncertain.
Real Madrid ‘Confident’ Over David de Gea
Real Madrid are long time admirers of David de Gea and have been boosted by comments the keeper made recently:
“I don’t think Florentino Pérez has my number,” he told El Partidazo de Cope. “I don’t know if I’ll be the goalkeeper at Real Madrid”
Manchester United remain confident of retaining his services despite a new contract not leading to a signature. De Gea had a shaky start to life in England. He has since become one of the most revered keepers in World football. Whilst he has not asked for a move, the comments will cause the United hierarchy some concern.
Madrid are confident that they can land the United stopper by making him the most expensive keeper in history. The cost of that? A cool £100 million.
Gelson Martins
Arsenal may miss out on transfer target Gelson Martins. Martins asked for his contract with Sporting Lisbon to be terminated, ergo attracting attention from the Premier League and abroad. AC Milan have been tracking the 23 year old who netted 12 times last season. Milan are keen to get the deal done before Arsenal and other EPL clubs join the chase.
As a free transfer, Martins would be good business for most clubs. The race to land the player looks likely to heat up before it’s won.
