The Latest Football Transfer News On Rooney, Rondon, Pogba and Neymar

Wayne Rooney

The rumoured transfer of Wayne Rooney from Everton to MLS side DC United is ongoing with Rooney expected to fly to Washington this week to meet his potential new teammates. A £12.5 million transfer deal has been agreed in principle. Rooney’s current deal runs until June 2019 but his fairytale return to Everton is drawing to an end.

Salomon Rondon

Following West Brom’s relegation to the Championship, Salomón Rondon is a player in demand. West Ham United’s new boss Manuel Pellegrini worked with him at Malaga and is reportedly keen on a transfer for the striker. Newly promoted Cardiff City are also said to hold interest. The release clause in the player’s contract is rumoured to be £16.5 million pounds which may put West Ham in the driving seat.

Paul Pogba

Will he stay or will he go? Paul Pogba has been to Manchester United once, left for nothing and come back again. The rumours surrounding his transfer won’t go away. Michael Carrick was asked if Pogba had a future at United, to which retired midfielder told Sky Sports:

“It’s a bit of a silly question, really, I think. Of course he has got a future”

Juventus are expressing interest in re-signing the player which would complete a merry go round for the talented Frenchman. PSG are also rumoured to be showing interest although the player himself has said his presence in the French capital has nothing to do with that:

“My presence at the Eiffel Tower has nothing to do with PSG.”

If he does move, the fee will surely eclipse the £89 million United paid to bring him back to in 2016.

Neymar

Neymar has been with PSG for one year but could be on his way out already. Manchester United may be willing to pay the Brazil star £650,000 per week to lure him to Manchester, whilst former Brazilian star Rivaldo believes Neymar should head back to Spain and join Real Madrid if he wants to win the coveted Ballon d’Or and become the best player in World football.
