Having already signed Victor Lindelof and Romelu Lukaku for £31m and £75m respectively, it appears Manchester United are not done yet.
Transfer Update: Croatian Winger Ivan Perišić
The Independent are reporting that Manchester United are finally close to agreeing a deal with Inter Milan for their Croatian winger Ivan Perišić—which would be at £48 million—just short of the Italian club’s £50 million valuation of the player.
Perišić took a leave from the club’s pre-season tour preparations, citing a tooth problem and has returned to his native Croatia for further treatment with a doctor that he is familiar with. The club leave for China on Tuesday.
The same source also reports that the deal is set to be completed “in the next few days”. Personal terms have already been agreed between player and club, with Mourinho eager to close the deal as soon as possible to allow Perisic to settle in with the squad just before the season kicks-off.
Italian daily Gazetta dello Sport say that the saga could come to a close soon and that if Perišić steps on the plane to China, he will remain an Inter player, at least for a little longer.
Other sources such as The Daily Star cite that Matteo Darmian or Chris Smalling could be included in the deal, although the possibility of that is very low. Take that with a grain of salt.
