It’s a great night for player props in the NHL, with just three games on the schedule. We won three of four last night and will look to keep it rolling on Wednesday.
Here are four picks to consider from hockey betting sites for Jan. 4.

Jason Robertson – Anytime Goal Scorer
Jason Robertson can’t be stopped this year. After a career-best 79 points in 2021-22 for the Dallas Stars, Robertson has reached a new level in his fourth season, with 55 points through his first 39 games.
He’s tied for third in league scoring and is firmly placed in the MVP conversation. The 23-year-old is enjoying an eight-game point streak (12 points) and will look to add to it against an awful Anaheim team.
There isn’t much value on the points prop, so we’re raising the stakes and picking J-Rob to score in a third straight game. There’s an even healthier payout if you think he’ll score 2+ against the league’s worst defense.
Kirill Kaprizov – Over 0.5 Assists
The Minnesota Wild are rolling this season, and Kaprizov has provided most of the horsepower. The young Russian has followed up his sparkling 108-point 2021-22 campaign with a similar pace this year.
The winger has 45 points on the season, including 25 assists. He cooled off a little at the end of December (three points in five games) but should ring in the new year with a point or two against a tired Lightning team.
Tampa played last night in Chicago, so it will be a quick turnaround for the Bolts. Kaprizov hasn’t registered an assist in two straight, and it’s rare for him to go three in a row without a helper.
Dylan Larkin – Over 0.5 Points
The Red Wings have struggled recently (3-5-2) but will look to get back on track in the season’s second half. A big reason for their early success was the brilliant play from veteran center Dylan Larkin.
The Michigan native has cooled off in recent weeks, but the Wings will need him if they plan on making a legitimate postseason run. He’s still the team’s leading scorer (32 points in 35 games) but has been shut out in his last two.
We like him to bounce back against a reeling New Jersey Devils team that has gone 2-6-2 in their previous ten.
Nikita Kucherov – Over 0.5 Assists
Nikita Kucherov is one of the NHL’s best playmakers and already has 40 assists on the year. It’s never a bad idea to bet on the Russian to notch an A, but we especially like it after a game that he was held off the scoreboard.
The Lightning won 4-1 in Chicago last night with no help from their superstar winger. Remarkably, Kucherov has only gone two games in a row without an assist twice this season.
The odds are ripe for the 29-year-old to dish an apple or two tonight.
