NBA Player Props | Friday, Dec. 16
Joel Embiid Over 31.5 Points
On paper, Embiid at 7-0, 280, has the size and considerable skill to eat the Warriors alive. Golden State’s biggest defender is Kevon Looney at 6-9, 222. Embiid is averaging 35 points over his last seven, and scored at least 32 points in four of those contests.
Even without Steph Curry, the Warriors have a bullseye on their back. Not to mention, this is a nationally televised showcase – the type of spot in which a player of Embiid’s caliber wants to put on a show.
Evan Mobley Over 28.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists
Mobley is averaging 16 points and 11 rebounds over his last 10 games. He scored at least 16 points in seven of those contests and pulled down at least 11 boards in six. He’s also dishing the rock effectively, recording at least three dimes in seven games over that span.
Darius Garland and Donovan Mitchell dominate usage, but Mobley has only fallen short of 10 shot attempts three times over his last 12. The Pacers aren’t particularly efficient offensively, so even if Mobley has a modest scoring night, he should be able to make up the difference on the glass and with a few helpers to round out his stat sheet.
Anthony Davis Over 40.5 Points + Rebounds
Davis remains red-hot. He may also have a chip on his shoulder after failing to convert late-game free throws in recent contests. He’s averaging 34 points and 13 rebounds over his last three games, and hit 41 combined points and boards in six of his last 10.
The Nuggets don’t exactly present a formidable defense, so Davis should continue to lead the way for the Lakers, who have enjoyed a nice stretch on the shoulders of Davis’ recent run.
Nikola Jokic Over 46.5 Points + Assists + Rebounds
Jokic is on a monster tear of late, averaging 29-11-9 over his last 11 games. He scored 30-plus seven times over that span; recorded 10-plus rebounds eight times; and nine-plus assists six times.
He’s stuffing the stat sheet as well as anyone in the game right now, and he leads a Nuggets team into Los Angeles as a 1-point favorite. The top NBA betting sites also place a healthy total on this matchup, so Jokic should have plenty of time to matriculate his way to an Over.
Keep in mind that odds and lines are subject to change prior to tip-off.
