Best NHL Player Props Today: Tage Stays Hot, Plus 3 More Picks

It’s a stacked schedule in the NHL with 12 games on tap. Mitch Marner looks to extend his streak while Ovi takes aim at Gordie Howe’s 801. Here are four player props for Thursday night.

Tage Thompson – Over 0.5 Points

The Buffalo Sabres are the highest-scoring team in the NHL. Tage Thompson can take a lot of the credit for that.

Thompson is third in scoring (44 points) and is an early candidate for the Hart Trophy. The 25-year-old is coming off a three-point performance against the Kings two nights ago and will look to keep rolling against Colorado.

The winger had three points vs. the Avs when the teams last met on Dec. 1. TT has 15 points in December in just six games played.

David Pastrnak – Over 0.5 Power Play Points

The Bruins are near the league’s top in many categories, including power play percentage (28.6%, 3rd). Tonight, the Bs will take on the Kings, who have struggled when a man down this year, killing just 70.4% (28th) of penalties.

David Pastrnak leads the Bruins in points and has been remarkably efficient on the PP. Almost half of the winger’s 38 points (18) have come with the man advantage, including an assist last game against the Islanders.

John Tavares – Over 2.5 Shots

You can almost pencil John Tavares in for 3+ shots every night.

The veteran center is a shooting machine and has gone under 2.5 shots just once in his last 11 games. He’s coming off a six-shot performance against Anaheim on Tuesday. The Toronto Maple Leafs are the hottest team in the NHL and have averaged 39 shots per game in their last three.

Tavares also scored a goal last game. If you think he’ll do it again, you’ll get +215 odds at Caesars sportsbook.

Cole Caufield – Anytime Goal Scorer

There’s no better way to cure a mini-slump than to face the Anaheim Ducks. Montreal Canadiens’ leading goal scorer Cole Caufield hasn’t potted one in a couple of games and will look forward to facing the league’s worst team.

The Ducks are giving up 4.27 goals per game (32nd) and showing no signs of improvement. Anaheim has lost three in a row, including a 7-0 drubbing by the Leafs on Tuesday.

Adding the over 3.5 shots for a same-game parlay is another option. The Ducks give up the most shots in the league (37.7), and Caufield has 4+ shots in two of his last three.
