Game 4 Player Props & Picks

Jalen Brunson Over 24.5 Points | Over 5.5 Assists

Both of these are solid gambles, though not necessarily in a parlay. The Knicks have their backs cornered and need to lean on their core guys to steal a W on the road. This is the type of situation the Knicks had in mind when signing Brunson last summer.

One way or another, Brunson will need to lift his mates. He’s not a consistent shooter from three, but he is capable of scoring in a variety of ways. He’s gone Over 24.5 points in four of eight playoff contests. He reached Over 5.5 assists in five contests. The Knicks shot 34.1% as a team in Game 3, so a play on six dimes requires faith the team will show up alongside Brunson.

Jimmy Butler Under 28.5 Points

Betting against Jimmy Butler at home takes guts, but it’s worth consideration in this spot. Everyone is banged up to some degree at this point in the season, but Butler’s ankle injury was serious enough to hold him out of Game 2. Volume and efficiency are factors for bettors to consider in light of that.

Butler torched the Bucks in Round 1 with high efficiency on ample volume – we’re talking nearly 60% from the field while attempting up to 33 shots in a game. It’s reasonable to anticipate comparatively modest shot volume – 20-22 shots perhaps – with less efficiency against a Knicks defense that has defended “Playoff Jimmy” better than the Bucks did.

Anthony Davis Under 38.5 Points + Rebounds

It’s difficult to ignore Davis’ trend of one game on, one game off. He’s alternating between great assertive performances and passive mediocre showings. Fresh off a winning effort in Game 3 (25 points, 13 points, 3 assists), Davis is “due” for a lighter performance.

Bettors should consider that Davis only played 33 minutes in Game 3. However, while there’s reason to suggest Davis will have the legs to log back-to-back quality performances, it’s difficult to bank on something he and the Lakers appear disinterested in achieving.

Stephen Curry Over 30.5 Points | Over 4.5 Three-Pointers Made

Credit to the Lakers, who have defended Curry as well as teams can expect. Nobody completely shuts Curry down for extended stretches, but they’re limiting his shot volume – 19 field goal attempts per game.

This is a near must-win for Curry and the Warriors, who won’t want to go down 3-1. We’ve seen some of Curry’s best performances come on the road in “back against the wall” spots. The Warriors coaching staff has three games of tape to find the necessary counters to get Curry going. Reaching 31 points tonight will likely include his prototypical long-range marksmanship, so if you’re bullish on a big night from Curry, consider the Over on threes as well.
