Dayton pulled off one of the all-time NCAA Tournament comebacks in their first-round matchup against Nevada. Trailing 56-39 late in the second half, the Flyers went on a 24-4 run to close out the game and secure the victory.
Meanwhile, the Arizona Wildcats exorcized their first-round demons from last year and convincingly defeated Long Beach State by 20 points in their tournament opener.

The Flyers were halfway out of the tournament before reeling it in on Thursday night, but if they go down early to the Wildcats, they won’t pull off another comeback.
The game total is at 149.5, but I’m staying away. Arizona could run up the score, and Dayton plays at a plodding pace.

Arizona 80, Dayton 65
The Dayton defense is going to have a tough time defending Arizona as they can get scoring from multiple players as they did in their opening-round game. Dayton can stay in the game by shooting the long ball, which they hit at a 40.2% clip on the season (third-best rate in CBB).
I expect Love to have a bounce-back game for the Wildcats while he leads Arizona into the Sweet 16.

It took the Wildcats a little bit of time to get going, but they showcased why they’re one of the tournament favorites in their first game. Each starter registered double-digit points and they shot 37% from beyond the arc.
It wasn’t Caleb Love’s best game, shooting only 3-12 from three and Arizona still managed to win by 20 points. This team is balanced and will run the opponents off of the three-point line.
Long Beach State only attempted 17 threes and made only three.
