Both teams were top 30 in tempo and rely on a point guard-post player offense. The difference between the two is Arizona is much deeper and had a much more difficult schedule.
Remember, Long Beach State fired their head coach assuming they’d lose during the Big West Conference Tournament.
They deserve flowers for losing to UC Davis by 10, and then rattling off three-straight wins, including against Davis and top seed UC Irvine on their way to an improbable title. The issue is they were bad leading up to their conference tourney.
Expect LBSU to put up a fight as Monson departs the program, but the under seems more likely based on talent and an expectation that the 49ers fall lose steam as time disappears.
