Angel Reese Makes History With First Signature Sneaker

Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese has made history after officially releasing her first signature sneaker. The blossoming star teamed up with Reebok to launch the Angel Reese 1, which dropped three different colorways on Sept. 18. The release marked a major step for Reese, the brand, and women’s basketball.

The three colorways that the Angel Reese 1 debuted in –named “Diamond Dust,” “Mebounds,” and “Receipts Ready” –each reflecting elements of Reese’s personality and play.

Reebok priced the sneakers at $120 in adult unisex sizes and designed them with performance and style in mind. They use Reebok’s Energy Return System, a molded TPU upper for durability, and a stability cup in the heel to deliver balance, comfort, support, and flair both on and off the court. In addition, they draw inspiration from Reebok’s Mobius line, incorporating the footwear giant’s iconic Exoskeleton upper.

“✨ HAPPY LAUNCH DAY ✨ Today I get to share a dream turned reality—my very first shoe👟…”

Reese’s signature line first debuted at the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game. The 23-year-old showed off her marketing genius by unveiling multiple colorways ahead of their official launch.

The “Mebounds” colorway references her reputation as one of the best rebounders in the game. “Receipts Ready” ties back to her confidence and personality. “Diamond Dust” blends style with performance, appealing to both players and casual wearers. Upcoming colorways, including “Giving Grace,” are expected to release later in the year.

Reebok’s Big Comeback in Women’s Basketball

The launch of the Angel Reese 1 marks a return to the basketball sneaker market for Reebok, with a focus on the women’s game. Reebok CEO Todd Krinsky considers Reese “a provocative disruptor” (per The Athletic’s Mike Vorkunov) and believes that the release is a significant milestone for the footwear company.

With that being said, Reebok’s decision to give Reese her own shoe line shows their commitment to elevating WNBA stars and appealing to a new generation of fans.

Angel Reese 1 Sells Out Within Minutes of Official Release

Fans were lined up for the Angel Reese 1’s official release, with all three colorways selling out online within minutes. This has left many searching for restock information after the sneakers disappeared from online shelves.

On the surface, Reese’s entry into the sneaker world places her alongside a select group of WNBA players who have their own signature shoes. However, the success of her first launch suggests there’s strong appetite for more women’s basketball athletes to have similar opportunities. Ultimately, her sold-out debut marks a turning point for women’s basketball and sneaker culture.

Keeping that in mind, Reese doesn’t view this as just a signature shoe launch. This is also a reflection of her style, story, and stamp on the game.
