7. Houston Rockets

The Rockets could easily be a lot higher on this list than number 7, but it has been a crazy year in the NBA. They are exactly what people have expected them to be. They have put everything together and are playing really good team basketball. Kevin Durant completes this team, and his scoring takes a huge load off the rest of the roster.
6. Los Angeles Lakers

The Lakers really do not have enough talent to be as good as they are. They have some amazing players, but their depth from a name basis is lacking. This is not what it has felt like, though; they have felt like a well-built roster from top to bottom, and their reliance on their bench has been very impressive. If they can weather their recent flurry of injuries, they’re going to be just fine.
5. New York Knicks

The Knicks’ coaching change this offseason has been one of their best moves in recent history. Mike Brown has been extremely impressive in his short run with the Knicks so far. They have been playing great basketball in the early portion of the season and are hoping to continue that through the rest of the year.
