Patrick Ngongba
There has been a lot of noise about the potential leap that Patrick Ngongba could take this year. After that twelve minute scrimmage, I am not sure the expectations could be higher. Ngongba was slyly mentioned as a darkhorse to win the Duke three-point contest and he showed why with a smooth jumper in the scrimmage. He also showed off his excellent passing ability with some smooth finds.
Ngongba also appears notably trimmed down. He spent his senior season of high school with nagging injuries and they continued to follow him through his freshman year. He now appears fully healthy and well-conditioned which he will need to be given his new starting role.
