Former NBA All-Star Reveals Unusual Pick for ‘Best Player Ever’

For years, many have debated who the best player in NBA history is. Usually, people consider the most dominant players in league history as the best or greatest of all time. This typically includes players like Michael Jordan or LeBron James. However, former Indiana Pacers All-Star Victor Oladipo recently shared his controversial pick for the best NBA player of all-time: Stephen Curry.

Recently, Oladipo called Curry the “best player ever” because of his legacy and how much he changed the game of basketball (YouTube link).

“Best player ever. Yeah. And I would consider him that because—he’s supposed to be playing golf, bro. If you really look at him—he’s supposed to be playing golf. He’s out there 100%. And he hittin’ aay out there, bro. 100%. For real. He doing his thing—it’s… he is… he’s changed the game completely, bro. And you just—you said something so profound: I saw him. I saw him. I had to guard him. You know what I’m saying? It’s really different. And he has changed the game so drastically that guys shoot 50 threes a game now—and that’s only because of him. That’s it,” Oladipo said.

The Golden State Warriors guard is a future Hall of Famer. Additionally, many consider him the greatest point guard in NBA history over the likes of Magic Johnson. Throughout his career, Curry is an 11-time All-Star, a 10-time All-NBA selection, a four-time NBA Champion, a two-time MVP, a one-time NBA Finals MVP, and an Olympic gold medalist.

Stephen Curry Is Aiming for Another Championship

Despite already having four rings to his resume, Curry has made it clear he is not finished yet. In November, the Davidson alum said winning a fifth championship is “the only thing I’m playing for at this point.”

“Honestly, it’s the only thing I’m really playing for at this point,” Curry said on the NBC Sports Bay Area’s “Dubs Talk,” which debuted Wednesday. “It’s the only thing that matters in the sense of accomplishment.”

“I still love to play the game,” Curry said. “I still love to come to work every day. Basketball is still fun for me. The challenge of trying to figure out how to win on a nightly basis, I still get up for it.”

Despite a rocky season for most of the year, Curry and the Warriors have gotten back on track. With just a couple of weeks left in the regular season, the Warriors are 41-30 and own the No. 6 seed in the Western Conference.

The Last Word

The Warriors turned things around drastically since acquiring Jimmy Butler from the Miami Heat. While a championship is far from a guarantee this year, Curry and the Warriors are in a good spot to make it competitive and go on a deep playoff run. A lot of basketball remains, but it looks good for Golden State. They still have a lot of competition ahead of them in the West. However, as long as Curry is still active, the Warriors will always have a chance to win it all.
