A father and son playing in the NBA is something special that I never thought I would see. As far as me and Deuce, I don’t know. A lot of things would have to go right for that to happen. With the possibility of Deuce playing in the NBA over a decade away, Tatum’s priority is on the present. In his first season as an NBA champion, the Duke alum is once again looking like an MVP candidate. Through 14 games, Tatum is averaging 29.7 points, 7.9 rebounds, 5.9 assists, and 1.4 steals. Additionally, he is shooting 46.1% from the field and 38.1% from beyond the arc. In large part due to Tatum’s presence, the Celtics are 11-3. Only the 15-0 Cleveland Cavaliers have a better record in the East.
Tatum’s season is incredibly crucial for the Celtics as they are not at full health. Kristaps Porzingis, who suffered a rare leg injury during the NBA Finals, has yet to make his season debut. Additionally, Jaylen Brown has already missed four games this season due to injury. Regardless, Tatum has kept the Celtics afloat as they still look like legitimate championship contenders once again.
