WNBA Playoffs Betting: Liberty vs Lynx WNBA Finals Game 3 Odds

The WNBA Finals are all tied up at 1-1, and both games have been worth the price of admission. Game 1 featured an overtime thriller where the Lynx eked out a win. Game 2 belonged to the Liberty. As the New York Liberty vs Minnesota Lynx timeline continues, let’s look at the WNBA Finals Game 3 odds to determine our WNBA betting predictions.

Liberty Lock Up Lynx

Game 2 of the WNBA Finals almost followed the pattern from Game 1. This time, after dropping Game 1 in overtime, New York held firm and closed out Game 2 with a 12-0 run to secure an 80-66 win at Barclays Center. Breanna Stewart was the MVP of Game 2 for the Liberty, recording 21 points, eight rebounds, five assists, and a WNBA Finals-record seven steals. The Liberty covered the spread of -7, and the total went under the projection of 162.5.

The series is tied at 1-1 as both teams head to Minnesota. Despite the Liberty’s Game 1 collapse, they’ve regained their momentum. Meanwhile, the Lynx, although falling short in Game 2, managed to steal a game on the road and now have home-court advantage in the series.

Although the Liberty controlled most of Game 2, when Minnesota trimmed the lead to 66-64, it seemed like another comeback was on the horizon. New York’s late game surge showed they have already forgotten Game 1.

Looking Ahead

Looking into Game 3, Minnesota’s Napheesa Collier will need to step up if the Lynx are to have a chance. Collier had scored 20 or more points for four straight playoff games before Game 2. In Game 2, she was held to just 12 shots and 16 points. She still led the Lynx in scoring.

Another factor in the game was the Liberty’s Betnijah Laney-Hamilton’s offensive resurgence. Laney-Hamilton scored 20 points, her season-high and best game of the season. She will look to continue her solid play in Game 3. Even though the series is tied, the Liberty have largely controlled the tempo, leading for most of the series, while the Lynx have led for just over three minutes in total.

WNBA Finals Game 3 Odds

The Game 3 odds are out, and the Liberty are once again favored. In Games 1 and 2, they were favored on their home floor, going 1-1 against the spread. Now, they will face the Lynx tied up at 1-1, and they are -3 favorites on the Lynx’s home floor. The Liberty are favored -152 straight up, and the Lynx are +124. The over/under for the game is set at 160.

Making a WNBA Finals prediction based on the first two games is tough. Both games were generally controlled by the Liberty, but also were only decided during late runs.  The Liberty have been hot on the road lately, going 5-1 against the spread in their last six away games. The Lynx are 10-2 straight up in their last 12 home games.

The Lynx are still up on the season series with the Liberty, 4-2. They will have a raucous Minnesota crowd behind them in Game 3, which could help them not lose control of the game early. Expect Minnesota to come out firing in Game 3, but falling short to the locked-in Liberty.
