The Miami Heat announced on Thursday that they signed Caleb Daniels from their G-League affiliate Sioux Falls Skyforce to an exhibt 10 contract. Which allows Daniels to participate in Miami’s training camp and compete for a two-way deal. Having graduated from Villanova, Daniels went undrafted in 2023 and joined the Miami Heat for the 2023 Summer League. He was waived before the 2023-24 season then joined Skyforce in October 2023.
Daniels attended St. Augustine High School in New Orleans, where he averaged 19 points and 12 rebounds as a senior, leading his team to the Division I semifinals and earning All-Metro and second-team all-state honors. Committed to Tulane, he averaged 16.9 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 3.3 assists as a sophomore before transferring to Villanova after working out for the Boston Celtics. At Villanova, he faced challenges including a COVID-19 diagnosis and myocarditis but bounced back, averaging 14.2 points and 4.2 rebounds in his super-senior season. Following Nassir Little who signed a one-year deal with Heat, Daniels became the 21st player on Miami’s training camp roster.
As expected, the Heat have signed summer-league and G League prospect Caleb Daniels to an Exhibit 10 camp tryout contract, putting their camp roster at the NBA offseason maximum of 21 players.

Daniels’ 2023-24 Season With Skyforce
Last season, Daniels appeared in 31 games for Skyforces, starting in 22 of them. He averaged 12.9 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 2.1 assists while playing 31.5 minutes per game, shooting 43.4% from the field, 34.5% from three-point range, and 85% from the free-throw line. That season he made 21 times double-digit scoring and had six games where he posted 20 or more points, including a streak of four consecutive 20-point games from February 13 to 25. Daniels also recorded two double-doubles and made multiple three-pointers in 14 games, including a season-high six threes against the OKC Blue on February 13.
Daniels then attended the Heat’s training camp during the summer, appearing in seven Summer League games which included the team’s NBA2K25 Summer League championship run in Las Vegas. He averaged 5.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.2 steals per game while. Impressively, he only committed three turnovers across all seven games, maintaining a 4.0 assist-to-turnover ratio, and posted a +14 net difference throughout the Summer League.
Daniels Adds Backcourt Depth for Miami
After signing Daniels, the Heat already piled up the backfield line with 11 guards on the roster. Daniels is expected to not earn as many playing minutes as possible from coach Erik Spoelstra while the team returns to the pre-season training camp in a fully healthy state. But his joining, adding up with his consistent shooting performance last year, can become a good backup for the Heat once the team encounters an injury crisis.
The Heat had made a couple of successful examples of thriving role players that they selected from the NBA G-League, it’s clear Daniels is in the right place to shine.
