Las Vegas won the 2023 WNBA Championship. They followed their title with a 27-13 season, ending on a 9-1 run. Led by the powerhouse trio of A’ja Wilson, Kelsey Plum, and Jackie Young, the Aces fourth place finish is somewhat surprising. Despite not finishing at the top, Wilson unanimously won the WNBA MVP award. They currently are +280 to repeat as WNBA champs.
The Aces ended the season 19-20-1 against the spread and 10-10 at home. The scoring total has gone under seven times in their last eight games. They are 4-1 in their last five home games, a record they will look to improve on Tuesday.
Storm Have the Talent
Seattle ended the season with a 25-15 record. The combination of four All-Star level players in Jewell Loyd, Skylar Diggins-Smith, Nneka Ogwumike, and Ezi Magbegor gave Storm fans high hopes this season. Now, they are long shots at +9500 to win the championship. Magbegor is questionable for Tuesday’s game with a concussion.
The Storm finished the season 19-21 against the spread and 1-4 in their last five. They have been trending under lately, going 2-6 on totals. Seattle has the talent to extend this series but hasn’t played well against the Aces this season.
Nneka Ogwumike on what was said in the fourth as the Storm faltered:
“I can’t lie, I didn’t say anything. I was trying to catch my breath. That’s just really what I was trying to do. But looking back, I could have said something. I think everybody was just trying to stay calm.” pic.twitter.com/ycxmNTg9zY

Storm vs Aces Odds
The Storm vs Aces odds are Aces -9 at home. Las Vegas are -450 to win straight up, and Seattle is +330. In Game 1, Wilson led the Aces, scoring 21 points and recording five blocks to help secure a 78-67 win over the Storm. The two-time defending champions clamped down defensively, limiting Seattle to just two free throws in the fourth quarter to pull away late.
Diggins-Smith led Seattle with 16 points and eight assists, with Gabby Williams chipping in 14 points and eight rebounds. Ogwumike posted a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds, and Jordan Horston added 10 points off the bench. It still wasn’t enough to get past the stifling Aces defense.
Las Vegas covered the -9.5 spread, and the total went under the oddsmaker’s projections. In their four regular season matchups, the Storm won and covered the first game, and the Aces won and covered in the next three. In their last five matches, the total has gone under four times.
