The recent release of a legendary NBA sports card from the Olympics has caused a stir. After the 2024 Paris Olympics, it was announced that Topps was releasing a special trading card to honor the three most legendary players on the team. This NBA sports card features autographs from Stephen Curry, LeBron James, and Kevin Durant. Giannis Antetokounmpo wants it badly.
Giannis Offers 1 Million Dollars for NBA Sports Card
The 1 Million Dollar NBA Sports Card Offer By Antetokounmpo
Giannis took to Instagram, as many card collectors and investors did, to talk about this epic NBA sports card. At first, the Greek star commented on a video of the card on Instagram saying “150k I need that”. Afterwards that bounty was out the window as investors and NBA basketball fans threw their offers out into the World Wide Web.

Like many others caught up in the frenzy, Giannis got excited and seemingly raised his bid. Many think this comment on Instagram showed he was interested in doubling the highest offer for the card. Right now, the highest offer is $500,000. If Giannis is serious, he would be offering $1 million for this Curry, LeBron, Durant triple autograph card.
Giannis Is No Stranger to Expensive Sports Cards
Not known as the most outspoken card collector in the NBA world, Giannis has an idea of how much NBA sports cards can be worth because of how much his cards have sold for. Previously as of March 2023, Giannis’ rookie card was number four on the list of the most expensive basketball cards of all time. His one-of-one autographed Panini National Treasures rookie card went for 1.8 million dollars in September of 2020. This card has since fallen to number 12 on the list.
Giannis also had another card sell for over $1 million in 2020. His “Black Mosaic” Panini Prizm card sold at Goldin Auctions in December of that year. The card was rated a BGS 9.5/10 for conditioning with perfect scores on corners and edges. This card also landed him on the list of most expensive sports cards ever.
The Topps Triple-Auto Team USA Card
The three faces (and autographs) of Paris 2024 Team USA basketball legends all also have some expensive sports cards with their names on them. Curry, the hero for Team USA basketball in his first-ever Olympics, is listed as the most expensive NBA sports card of all-time in the HoopsHype article. His autographed 1/1 Logoman Panini National Treasures Rookie was sold in 2021 for 5.9 million dollars.

LeBron James’ rookie cards are some of the most sought after in the collecting hobby. His Upper Deck Exquisite RPA sold in 2021 for $5.2 million, number two on the list of most expensive NBA sports cards ever. His cards are also seventh, eighth and ninth on the list. All three of those cards sold a couple years ago for more than $2 million apiece.
The newly released NBA trading card has generated considerable buzz. The card commemorates an incredible accomplishment of some of the greatest basketball players ever winning the Olympic gold medal together. When the card is eventually pulled, let’s see if Giannis is ready to meet the highest bidder.
