LaVar Ball Wants to Reunite His Sons in LA
LaVar’s eldest son, Lonzo, currently plays for the Chicago Bulls, but he remains sidelined due to injury. His youngest son, LaMelo, was drafted by the Charlotte Hornets and blossomed into an NBA All-Star. “I want them all to play for the Clippers,” LaVar stated.

“Steve Ballmer, that’s my guy. I like him; I like his style,” LaVar said. “That’s why I tell him my last name is Ball, his last name is Ballmer; we push the Ball more,” he joked.

LaVar’s latest desire faces significant obstacles. LaMelo signed a five-year, $203 million contract extension with the Hornets in 2023. He has solidified his role as the team’s cornerstone player. While LaVar urged the Hornets to trade LaMelo, this move is unlikely given the team’s financial investment.
Lonzo hasn’t played an NBA game since 2022 due to a severe knee injury that threatened his career. LiAngelo still hasn’t made an official NBA appearance, limited to G League games so far.
