There are eight teams remaining in The Basketball Tournament (TBT). The quarterfinals will take place on Monday, July 29, and Tuesday, July 30. The semifinals will occur on Friday, August 2 before the finals to declare the champion happens on Sunday, August 4. The tournament began with 64 teams at a winner-take-all event where the winning team takes home one million dollars. Let’s take a look at the most notable player on each of the eight teams remaining in TBT.

Happy Valley Hoopers – Izaiah Brockington

Regardless of what happens from here on out, Izaiah Brockington can say that he has played in the NBA. He appeared in one game for the New Orleans Pelicans on March 5 of this year totaling four points and two rebounds. He was First Team All-Big 12 in his last college season with Iowa State in 2021-22.

Eberlein Drive – Archie Goodwin

Back in 2013, Archie Goodwin was a first-round pick (29th overall) in the NBA Draft. Goodwin played four seasons in the NBA, the first three coming with the Phoenix Suns. In his third season (2015-16), the six-foot-five guard averaged 8.9 points in 2015-16.

Team Colorado – Andre Roberson

Selected with the 26th pick in the 2013 NBA Draft, Andre Roberson started 269 games while playing with the Oklahoma City Thunder. In the 2016-17 season, he was named to the All-Defensive Second Team and finished fifth in Defensive Player of the Year voting. Roberson last appeared in the NBA for five games with the Brooklyn Nets in the 2020-21 season.

Forever Coogs – Melvin Frazier

In the 2018 NBA Draft, Melvin Frazier was taken in the second round (35th overall) by the Orlando Magic. He appeared in 29 games for them over his first two seasons and last played in three for the Thunder in April 2022. He dropped a career-high 16 points in one of those three outings against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Carmen’s Crew – Jared Sullinger

Jared Sullinger was taken with the 21st overall selection in the 2012 NBA Draft by the Boston Celtics. The 32-year-old averaged double figures in three-straight seasons from 2013-14 to 2015-16. On February 7, 2014, the six-foot-nine forward had a game of 31 points and 16 rebounds.

Takeover BC – A.J. English

While A.J. English never played in the NBA, his father (who goes by the same name) played for the Washington Bullets for two seasons. The younger English was a three-time First Team All-MAAC while playing at Iona during the mid-2010s.

The Ville – Montrezl Harrell

Not too long ago, Montrezl Harrell was one of the most productive reserves in the NBA. He was named Sixth Man of the Year in 2019-20 with the Los Angeles Clippers. In the four NBA seasons from 2018-19 to 2021-22, Harrell posted averages of 15.4 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 1.0 blocks. He did not play in the NBA last season due to a torn ACL.

La Familia – Eric Bledsoe

Eric Bledsoe was a longtime starting point guard in the NBA. Now 34 years old, Bledsoe made two NBA All-Defensive teams and started 568 games. He twice averaged more than 20 points in a season while with the Suns and averaged 13.7 for his career.
