📈  Creighton vs. Oregon Odds

Creighton-Oregon lines are current as of Saturday, 5 p.m. ET, at BetMGM Sportsbook:

  • Moneyline: Creighton (-190) • Oregon (+155)
  • Spread: Creighton -4.5 (+100) • Oregon +5 (-110)
  • Total Points: Over 146.5 (-110) • Under 146.5 (-110)

Creighton enters this contest as five-point favorites after a convincing 17-point victory over 14-seed Akron on Thursday.

The game total for this one is 146, meaning professional oddsmakers and sportsbooks anticipate a fairly high-scoring matchup between the Bluejays and Ducks.

Led by the likes of guard Trey Alexander and 7-foot-1 center Ryan Kalkbrenner, who led his team in scoring with 23 points, Creighton put together a solid opening-round performance against Akron.

As a team, Creighton’s success stemmed from its dominance on the perimeter. The Bluejays shot 56.5% from the field (26/46), including 58.8% from beyond the arc (10/17).

Over the course of the 2023-24 campaign, the Bluejays ranked 12th in the country in Adjusted Offensive Efficiency (points scored per 100 possessions, adjusted for opponent): 120.1, per KenPom.

🔮 Creighton vs. Oregon Prediction

Creighton 81, Oregon 72

Greg McDermott’s team will want to get off to a flying start at this year’s tournament.

The 2023-24 NCAA season saw Greg McDermott’s team sport a fantastic 23-9 (.718) overall record en route to a third-place finish in a very competitive Big East Conference behind last year’s champions, UConn and Marquette. We saw much of the same on Thursday afternoon during their drubbing of Akron.

The BlueJays are lanky, athletic, well-prepared, and can make shots from anywhere on the floor, which has helped them close out ball games all season long. In addition, Creighton currently ranks 11th in the nation in Adjusted Efficiency Margin (+23.99) via KenPom.

This metric is particularly important because it accounts for their on-court net efficiency, adjusted for the strength of the opponent and location (home/away/neutral) across all games played.

Although it’s still in the early onset of the tournament, Creighton is poised to once again make some noise in this tournament as one of the NCAA’s most complete teams.

Look for the Bluejays to come out flying and cruise to victory en route to a berth in the Sweet 16.

Creighton vs. Oregon Best Bet

Creighton -4.5 (-110)

BetMGM Sportsbook • 1 unit

Our best bet will target Creighton to cover the point spread on a single-unit wager. Be sure to check out our March Madness odds prior to the opening tip-off.

After marching all the way to the Elite 8 a season ago, Creighton has continued its stellar play across college basketball, which is a testament to its productivity and efficiency on the offensive end of the floor.

As a team, the Bluejays have posted some terrific advanced statistics, ranking 17th in the country in Team Average Scoring Margin (+11.0) and 24th in Points-Per-Game (80.4) via NCAAB Team Rankings.

Oregon, on the other hand, has struggled to get key defensive stops all season long, ranking 67th in the nation in Adjusted Defensive Efficiency (100.5), per KenPom.

When you factor in their experience at the NCAA Tournament, combined with the shabby defensive ability of the Ducks, it’s hard to envision Creighton losing this game. In addition, as heavy (-230) moneyline favorites, this carries with it a whopping 69.7% implied-win probability.

Look for the Bluejays to roll over Oregon and ultimately cover this acceptable point spread.

And you even get the hook at plus-money; I would’ve bet this at -5 anyway.
