Let’s get into it here.
WKU vs. Marquette Betting Preview
All below lines are via DraftKings Sportsbook, unless otherwise noted.
- Spread: WKU+14.5 (-115) • Marquette -14.5 (-105)
- Moneyline: WKU (+850) • Marquette (-1450)
- Total: Over 158.5(-110) • Under 158.5 (-110)
We have a conference champion in Western Kentucky vs. a non-conference champion in Marquette, but that’s where the advantages stop in this one for WKU. Marquette, when fully healthy, is one of the best teams in the country and has demonstrated an ability to hang with UConn, which is not something many teams can say. It’s going to be very tough for the Hilltoppers to stay relevant in this game without a near-perfect performance.

WKU vs. Marquette Best Bet
Marquette -14.5 (-105)

This bet is made with Tyler Kolek’s availability in mind. Marquette head coach Shaka Smart is “confident” that Kolek will be available for Friday’s game. Kolek is one of the best players in the country and will be a huge boon to Marquette’s offense, as he tends to make nearly everything happen on the offensive side of the floor for the Golden Eagles.
Western Kentucky tends to be its own worst enemy. It is one of the worst teams in the country when it comes to avoiding foul trouble. Against a top-tier team like Marquette, it’s already going to have plenty to deal with, so adding struggling with fouls to the mix is just going to crush its hopes even further.
WKU is going to keep this game interesting, but at the end of the day, Marquette simply has too much firepower and experience on both ends of the floor to lose this game or even come close. Lay the points with the Golden Eagles in this one.
