The fifth overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, Young has made at least 130 threes every season. Just 25 years old, Young has also made over 200 3-pointers in two seasons. He’s on pace to pass that mark for the third time in his spectacular career.

A quick and crafty ball-handler, Young creates separation from defenders all but at will. In fact, one of the hallmarks of Young’s game has been his shot-creation ability. Having recently passed Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson for the longest streak of five or more assists, Young not only excels at manufacturing space off the dribble but also finds his big men around the rim.

Graduating from the school of Stephen Curry, Young also loves pulling up from beyond the arc. One may even go as far as to say that his breaking the Hawks’ three-point record on Valentine’s Day was nothing less than poetic. In any case, taking shots all the way from the parking lot, his confidence from deep creates mind-bending highlights. Though a bit streaky on these attempts, he’s always dangerous.

All-Star Festivities

Now a three-time All-Star after a selection as an injury replacement allowed him to fight a controversial snub from the original All-Star roster, Young will also participate in the popular 3-Point Contest for the third time during All-Star Weekend.

Young also participated in 2020 and 2022. In 2020, he was eliminated in the first round. In 2022, he made it to the final round and finished second behind Minnesota Timberwolves star Karl-Anthony Towns. Two years later, Young will hope that the third time is the charm as he competes against an impressive group of 3-point threats, including Towns.
