Lebron James Is Willing to Miss a Game for Bronny’s Return

Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James (23) shakes hands with his son Bronny James during the second half against the Houston Rockets at Crypto.com Arena.

Earlier in the summer, Bronny James, son of LeBron James, suffered a cardiac arrest. This health issue sidelined Bronny for about four months. ESPN Staff Writer Jeff Borzelo said, “A family spokesperson said Thursday he will resume practice next week and return to games soon after.” Bronny has been cleared for full basketball activities. We will hopefully see the young James sooner rather than later. A few days ago, LeBron spoke out about Bronny’s imminent return, and this is what he had to say.

Lebron James Is Willing to Miss a Game for Bronny’s Return

LeBron James on Bronny James Return:

“Whenever he’s cleared and ready to have his first game, I already told my teammates that if they play on the same day we’re playing, I’m going to have to catch them the next game,” James told reporters after his team’s 133-110 loss at Oklahoma City on Thursday night. “Family over everything… but definitely got to see Bronny’s first game whenever he’s cleared and ready to go.”

You can see LeBron values family more than anything else. Having his son, who is only 19 and has a heart issue, must not be easy for the Los Angeles Lakers superstar. It makes sense LeBron would want to see his son’s big return over anything else.

What’s Next for Bronny James?

Bronny is a four-star recruit and was a McDonald’s All-American as a senior in high school. As the eldest son, he was the first James to attend college. Bronny chose the USC Trojans from the Pac-12 conference as his collegiate preference. The six-foot-four freshman has yet to play for USC, who are 5-2. USC is on a one-game winning streak, and for now, they are fifth in their conference.

Even though he has yet to play as a freshman, he finished his high school year at Sierra Canyon pretty strong. As a senior in high school, he averaged 13.8 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.8 steals. Tonight, USC will face the Gonzaga Bulldogs, and it is unlikely Bronny will play that game. However, do not rule out a possible return before the end of the year. Maybe against Auburn on December 17th or Alabama State on the 19th. Whatever the case, we can not wait to see what Bronny will do once he reps his USC jersey in his college debut.

What’s Next for LeBron James?

While LeBron waits for Bronny’s return date, he also has his own team to worry about. The Lakers are sitting in the seventh spot in the Western Conference. Los Angeles is 11-9, and their games are like rollercoasters; they have ups and downs. LeBron and the Lakers have also dealt with many injuries throughout the season, with several starters missing games. Tomorrow, the Lakers will face the Houston Rockets, and then they will face the Phoenix Suns in a quarterfinal match on December 5th for the NBA In-Season Tournament. Although the Lakers have shown their struggles in the regular season, they are undefeated in the tournament. As far as that goes, look for LeBron and the Lakers to try to win the tournament. This tournament could cement the Lakers as their first-ever champs and LeBron as the first superstar to win it.
