Famous NBA player Dwyane Wade recently purchased a stake into the ownership group of the Utah Jazz. The Jazz are currently the best team in the league with 41 wins and 14 losses (as of the early afternoon on April 16).
Utah Jazz is now partly owned by Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade
Wade is a famous NBA player who made the NBA All-Star Game 13 times with the Miami Heat. He is also a three-time NBA Champion. He played in the NBA from 2003-19. Now, Wade is a part-owner of the Jazz.

Adrian Wojnarowski, an ESPN Senior NBA Insider was the first one to break this news. Wade was drafted fifth in the 2003 NBA Draft. He won one NBA Finals Most Valuable Player award in 2006 and won the NBA All-Star Game Most Valuable Player in 2010. He was also in two All-NBA First Teams, three times All-NBA Second Team, and three times All-NBA Third Team. Wade also made the NBA All-Defensive Second Team three times.
Lastly, he was the NBA scoring champion in 2009 and NBA All-Rookie First Team in 2004. He played for three teams in the NBA including the Heat, Cleveland Cavaliers, and the Chicago Bulls.
The Current Ownership Group in Utah
The current owners of the Jazz are Ryan Smith and his wife, who own the majority of the Jazz according to the Associated Press since late 2020. From that same article, here is what Ryan Smith said about what Wade brings to Utah.

Utah is an amazing place, and I couldn’t be more thrilled about the future of the franchise and the future of this state. Dwyane’s influence will be important to both.”
Wade will be a minority owner of the Jazz. He will bring needed championship experience to a franchise believing they can win their first-ever Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy this year. Wade is, however, not the only current or former NBA player to currently have a stake in a team. Current Los Angeles Lakers player LeBron James is currently a part-owner of both Major League Baseball’s Boston Red Sox and Premier League club Liverpool according to Christopher Smith of MassLive Media.
