Stephen Curry will return to play for the Golden State Warriors tonight to face the Toronto Raptors on national television. The anticipation for the future Hall of Famer’s return was mounting as his return date closed in and now it is finally here. The Warriors have the worst record in the NBA now after the injury to Klay Thompson in the Finals which knocked him out of the season this year. Kevin Durant even though he was injured anyway left Golden State to join the Brooklyn Nets. Steph Curry is all that is left from the Warriors past big three for this season.
Steph Curry Will Return Tonight to Face the Toronto Raptors
To start the season the Warriors still had Curry and they were able to sign D’Angelo Russell. Then Curry went down with a broken hand. During the trade deadline, the Warriors knew they were not going to be able to win with Russell on the team so they went and traded him for Andrew Wiggins.
The Warriors now have Steph Curry back to play with Wiggins. They hope to get some wins on the board with the team they have right now. This team should still be a lottery team at the end of this year which will help them get talent on the team to add to what they already have.
Golden State has a tough schedule ahead of them for the rest of the season so it’s to their benefit that they are getting Curry back. They have to play teams like the before mentioned Raptors, the Milwaukee Bucks, The Los Angeles Clippers, Houston Rockets and the Los Angeles Lakers in their final games.
Curry played in only four games this season before breaking his hand. Right now he is averaging 20.3 points per game. He led them to five straight Finals appearances and three titles in those five seasons. He won a scoring title in 2015-16 when he averaged 30.1 points per game. Curry led the league in total steals for two years in a row from 2014-2016. He led the league in three-point field goals from 2012-17.
