The Colorado Buffaloes defeated the Arizona State Sun Devils 68-61 Thursday night. The loss dropped the Sun Devils to 1-3 in Pac-12 play and helped the Buffaloes to 3-1 in Pac-12 play. Remy Martin led the Sun Devils with 25 points, but once again the Arizona State offense had long scoring droughts which ultimately led to the loss. Arizona State is really struggling, having lost five of their last seven games.

Game Recap
This was a very physical and defensive game in which both teams got off to slow starts. Colorado went on an 11-0 run midway through the second half to go up 44-32 and that was where the game was won. Everytime Arizona State went on a small run Colorado responded to lengthen the lead. Although Martin had 25 points, he shot 4-11 from three. Romello White had 19 points, 10 rebounds and 3 blocks. He shot a very efficient 9-12 from the field and had eight of the Sun Devils first 11 points to start the second half. Rod Edwards continues to struggle he shot 3-12 from the field scoring eight points. Alonzo Verge Jr.had 7 points by shooting 2-13 from the field.
Meanwhile, Tyler Bey was the leading scorer for Colorado scoring 19 points on 5-9 from the field, 8 rebounds, 2 blocks and converted 8 of 10 free throws. Mckinley Wright IV really struggled shooting 4-15 from the field and scored 11 points. Lucas Siewart came off the bench scoring 14 points and was hot from behind the arc making four of his six three-point attempts. Shane Gatling added 10 points.
The Difference
The Sun Devils really struggled to score in the second half shooting 30 percent and shot 6-23 from three for the entire game. Colorado shot better from behind the arc making 7-18. The difference was free throw shooting. The Buffaloes made 19 of their 26 free attempts. Meanwhile the Sun Devils made 7 of their 11 free throws. Colorado had 8 steals compared to 3 steals for Arizona State. Colorado shot 40.4 percent while Arizona State shot 34.3 percent.
Looking Ahead For Colorado and Arizona State
The teams are going in opposite directions. Colorado is tied for second in the Pac-12, while Arizona State is tied for last in the Pac-12. Next up for the Sun Devils is Utah on Saturday in what seems like a must win game. Meanwhile, the Buffaloes play Arizona on Saturday in huge game at the Mckale Center.
