Milwaukee Bucks’ Eric Bledsoe injured his right fibula and is expected to be sidelined for approximately two weeks. This is a set-back for the Milwaukee Bucks, however, it is not something that will concern them too much.
According to NBA’s NBA.com staff, he was injured on Friday night against the Memphis Grizzlies. The Milwaukee Bucks would win that game 127-111.
What the Milwaukee Bucks Will Miss from Eric Bledsoe
Eric Bledsoe has been playing very well this year as he is taking more shots, as a result, he is scoring more points for the Milwaukee Bucks.
The Bucks will miss Eric Bledsoe’s three-point shots, solid defense, ball handling, and shot-creating
According to Kurt Helin of NBC Sports, Eric Bledsoe is shooting 34.4 percent via three-pointers, has played solid defense, and also provided another ball-handler and shot creator next to Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Even with the injury of Eric Bledsoe, it was not the first time they faced adversity. As reported on November 11th by NBA.com staff, Khris Middleton was injured for seven games this season for the Milwaukee Bucks.
How the Milwaukee Bucks are Doing
The Milwaukee Bucks are first in the Eastern Conference with a 24-3 record. This is tied for the best record in the NBA along with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Giannis Antetokounmpo has really impressed everyone averaging 27.7 points per game and 12.5 rebounds per game.
More importantly, they are four games above the second and third place Miami Heat and Philadelphia 76ers, so they have some room for error.
However, their schedule is about to get tougher. With wins against easy teams like the Memphis Grizzlies, the Cleveland Cavaliers, the New Orleans Pelicans, and the Orlando Magic, their schedule will get much harder. This will start with the Dallas Mavericks.
The Next Five Games
Dallas Mavericks
Four of the next five opponents the Milwaukee Bucks will face are a playoff to championship-contending teams in both the Eastern and Western Conference.
The Bucks will first face off against the Dallas Mavericks. The Dallas Mavericks are coming off a tough loss to a surprisingly good Miami Heat team.
The Dallas Mavericks are third in the Western Conference with 17 wins and eight losses. Fortunately, for the Bucks, the player leading the Dallas Mavericks, will not play because of an ankle injury. So it will be a level playing field between the two teams.
This may not be the case against the Los Angeles Lakers.
Los Angeles Lakers
This match-up will be on paper either the toughest or the second toughest of the five teams the Milwaukee Bucks will face in the next five games.
The Los Angeles Lakers led by LeBron James and Anthony Davis leads the Western Conference with 21 wins and three losses. It will be a shame that Eric Bledsoe is injured as his defensive presence would help a lot against the Los Angeles Lakers.
The Milwaukee Bucks will then travel to the road to face RJ Barrett and the New York Knicks. The Milwaukee Bucks may be missing Eric Bledsoe, but they must see this game as a must-win. The New York Knicks are the worst team in the Eastern Conference and second-worst team overall with six wins and 21 losses just ahead of the Golden State Warriors.
The Milwaukee Bucks have been doing that as they have 18 wins and zero losses against teams below .500.
Then they will have another home game against the Indiana Pacers, before going on the road against the Philadelphia 76ers.
Indiana Pacers
The Indiana Pacers are going to be a tough match for the Milwaukee Bucks.
The Indiana Pacers last year could have competed with the big 4 Eastern Conference teams if not for the injury of Victor Oladipo.
They are currently sixth in the Eastern Conference with 18 wins and nine losses.
With star player Victor Oladipo back in form in addition to an improved Aaron Holiday, the Pacers will be a hard team to beat.
However, that game does not compare to the game they will have to play on December 25th against the Philadelphia 76ers at home.
Philadelphia 76ers
Of the five games, this is the most crucial one. The Philadelphia 76ers are third in the Eastern Conference and chasing the Milwaukee Bucks.
The Bucks can open a huge lead over the Philadelphia 76ers. However, it is not going to be easy.
The Philadelphia 76ers have not lost a game at home this season. This might be another game where the Bucks would be missing Eric Bledsoe in a crucial Eastern Conference match-up.
However, saying that the Milwaukee Bucks are not too concerned even if Eric Bledsoe is injured.
