After being dubbed the best big man in the league by most people, DeMarcus Cousins has had quite the roller coaster ride. Cousins’ injuries have drastically affected his production on the court and at the bank. The timing of his injuries has made it tough for teams to offer him the max deal he is chasing. The latest injury took place this summer when Cousins tore his ACL during a workout. He has signed with the Los Angeles Lakers but will likely only be able to watch from the sideline this coming season.
Recently, however, Cousins has been in the news for the wrong reasons. While planning for his recent wedding, Cousins allegedly threatened to kill his ex-girlfriend, Christy West.

The Details
Cousins’ former girlfriend, Christy West, told Alabama police that she was threatened on Friday, a day before Cousins’ ceremony with his new girlfriend, Morgan Lang.
The quote, obtained by TMZ Sports, was allegedly “I’m gonna ask you this one more time before I take it to another level…Can I have my son here please?”
The conversation continued before the most profound statement was allegedly made by Cousins. “I’m gonna make sure I put a bullet through your f-ing head”. West also claimed that Cousins had hurt her before by chocking her but there were no additional details given on this situation.
Cousins did not return a request for comment, according to TMZ. His son reportedly did not make it to the ceremony in Atlanta.
What’s Next for DeMarcus Cousins and the Los Angeles Lakers
Cousins, who tore his ACL during a workout this summer, is expected to miss the entire 2019-20 NBA season. The Lakers have attempted to fill in the void by acquiring Dwight Howard. Howard will look to redeem himself in the purple and gold after a disappointing first stint in Los Angeles.
A weekend that was supposed to take Cousins’ mind off of his recent injury has turned into a mess. It will be interesting to see how this situation plays out and how the league will handle this accusation.
