Report: DeMarcus Cousins Suffers Possible Knee Injury

NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski has reported that DeMarcus Cousins has suffered a possible knee injury and will go through further testing in Los Angeles. It is said that he was working out in Las Vegas on Monday when he had to leave the court.

DeMarcus Cousins Reportedly Suffers Knee Injury

The 29-year-old Los Angeles Lakers center has had plenty of injuries over the course of the past few years in the NBA. From a quadriceps injury in last year’s playoffs to a torn Achilles while playing with the New Orleans Pelicans. The star center had an amazing career that was forced to take a step back after continuous injuries. The Achilles injury forced him to take a smaller deal for the Golden State Warriors. The plan was for Cousins to recover and win a ring in the process. That plan did not work though, and it seems as if another injury might continue to hold him back.

Cousins has just signed a one year deal with the Lakers in free agency, which reunites him with his former teammate Anthony Davis. He was supposed to have a comeback year on a new team this season. But it looks like things might have taken a quick turn for the worst. The best thing that fans could do is to pray the injury isn’t bad.

Reading into the report by Adrian Wojnarowski, it seems as if the injury happened on Monday in Las Vegas. With today being Thursday, there will be a doubt on the severity of the injury. Unless reports of the apparent injury came out way too late, this injury is not as bad as it seems, hopefully. Having taken three whole days to report, fans can hope that it is a minor setback. With more reports on the severity of the injury to come, stay tuned for updates.

Update

Shams Charania of The Athletic reported Thursday afternoon that the injury is an ACL tear.
