Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert is reportedly set to miss one month after being diagnosed with a PCL strain in his left knee. Shams Charania of Yahoo was first to break the news on Saturday afternoon:

Report: Utah Jazz Center Rudy Gobert Diagnosed with MCL Injury
Gobert, 25, left Friday night’s game against the Boston Celtics early with a knee injury. The Frenchman has been dealing with a bone bruise, as well as the confirmed PCL strain according to Charania. The incident occurred when teammate Derrick Favors fell onto Gobert’s leg. Utah went on to win the game 107-95 on the night.
Big win fellas! Way to grind it out ✊🏽

Gobert is almost averaging a double-double, with 11.6 points and 9.6 rebounds per game. The big center is known for his defensive impact, and the stats show exactly that. Averaging over two blocks per game, he is arguably the NBA’s most formidable rim protector. Gobert’s injury is a big loss for the Jazz but head coach Quin Snyder is remaining upbeat:
“This group’s got character and they are going to compete no matter what the circumstances, and they did.”
This is the second time this season Gobert will miss time. Gobert, who was drafted back in 2013, had only just returned from an 11 game absence last week. This can be seen in two ways, either Gobert is on the end of some bad luck or the hole left by Gordon Hayward is bigger than initially feared and the toll on his body is beginning to tell.
With a record of 14-15, the Jazz currently holds the ninth seed in the Western Conference.
In his absence, the Jazz will look to the likes of Jonas Jerebko to play valuable minutes. The team also called up Tony Bradley on Saturday, with the Salt Lake City Stars player is expected to see minutes in the Jazz frontcourt over the next few games.
