ESports is an ever growing sport. More and more sports teams are starting to adopt and sponsor e-teams.
ESports, for the non-gamers, are leagues of teams on games such as NBA 2K, Madden, and other games such as Overwatch and Call of Duty. They compete, and at the highest tier, win cash money topping out in the millions of dollars. It’s a largely growing market and now the Dallas Mavericks are taking part in a big way.
Dallas Mavericks eSports Deal With HyperX Gaming Headsets
Mark Cuban, owner of the Mavericks, has reportedly signed an agreement with HyperX, a professional gaming headset manufacturer, and will be sponsoring a future 2K Dallas League Team.
HyperX, the gaming division of Kinggston Technology company, inc., announced its first NBA 2k team sponsorship, becoming the official gaming headset partner of the future Dallas NBA 2k League team and the dallas mavericks.
As quoted from the press release from above, the company and Cuban are working to expand the Mavericks brand through the esports world. Other mentions in the press release include the new team being the first 2K League team to partner with HyperX, and the name of the team will “be announced later this winter.”
“We see the NBA 2K league as a great way to provide entertainment and partnering with HyperX is a valuable part of our plan to build a competitive NBA 2K League team,” said Cuban. “Hyper X brings an abundance of experience in the gaming community and will be a valuable partner both on and off the court during esports tournaments and events.”
Cuban and the HyperX team are going full speed ahead in the esports world with “NBA 2K team jerseys, social activation, testimonials and appearances at events, conventions, product launches and custom video activities.

HyperX has already made several deals with the NBA, including the Philadelphia 76ers, Jonas Jerebko, Gordon Hayward, and De’Aaron Fox.
