Brown’s Real World Struggle
Brown’s surge of talent comes after a great loss. Hours before tip-off of the game against the Warriors, Brown was notified that his long time best friend from high school was found dead due to apparent suicide. In an interview with Brown, he stated he was in no shape to play, and that he did not want to leave his room. The mother of his friend soon called Brown, and convinced him to play in his friends honor.

Lessons From The Past
Coach Brad Stevens also said he had a talk with Brown, similar to the talk he had with Isaiah Thomas last season when his sister passed away in a car accident. Brown went out and scored 22 points, which happened to be the number his friend wore on his basketball jersey in high school, to carry the Celtics to victory against the reigning champions. Brown’s friend was famous YouTuber Trev Steedy. A video of his recently went viral, where he took Brown on in a game of one on one.
Signs of Stardom
Brown used his friends death to motivate him to play better. Brown has been leading the Celtics in points, as well as improving his overall field goal percentage, with even his three point percentage is going up. He is showing streaks of stardom as he is meshing well with his teammates. The Celtics are hoping to beat the franchise record of 19 wins in a row, set in the 2008 season, where the Celtics won the NBA Championship. The All-Time NBA win streak record is currently held by the Los Angeles Lakers with 33 games in the 1971-1972 season, led by Wilt Chamberlain.
The Celtics take on the Mavericks Monday night, with hopes to bring the streak to 16. The Mavericks are currently the worst team in the NBA with a record of 3-14.
