Al Horford has been diagnosed with a concussion, and has since entered the NBA’s concussion protocol.
Al Horford Out Indefinitely With Concussion
Horford first showed concussion symptoms early this morning. The event that is believed to have caused the concussion was from the Celtics game against the Atlanta Hawks, where Kent Bazemore unintentionally struck Horford in the head while attempting to block a shot.
Here's the play Horford suffered a concussion on. Was very surprised it wasn't reviewed for a flagrant during game given contact to head. pic.twitter.com/pzAr1Jkr8f

This is worrying to Celtics fans, as this is not Horford’s first concussion. He suffered one last year, which put him out for nine games of the season. Without the big man, the Celtics went 5-4. This year, with the help from Aron Baynes and Marcus Morris, hopefully it won’t be as big of a downfall.
With the Celtics on a 9 game win streak, this is not the ideal time for another injury, as they are already missing Gordon Hayward. Hopefully, Horford recovers fast, as he is the centerpiece of both Boston’s offense and defense.
Tonight’s game against the Lakers will be the true test of how the Celtics will do without Horford, as there is no timetable yet for his return.
